🎒✨ Middle School Is Closer Than You Think! ✨🎒
Big things are ahead for rising 6th graders, and new opportunities await current middle school students, too.
As students grow, so do their opportunities—and Thomasville City Schools offers an experience designed to help them thrive. Our new 6–12 campus provides an open, welcoming environment that is easy to navigate, with grade-level areas that keep students connected and supported within a close-knit school community.
Here’s what sets TCS apart:
• Smaller class sizes that allow for stronger relationships and personalized learning
• Challenging academic rigor that prepares students for high school, college, and careers
• Exceptional arts programs, including dance, drama, visual arts, and music
• Expanded athletic opportunities, especially for multi-sport student-athletes
• A unified campus that supports growth across academics, arts, and athletics
Through our Bulldog +1 initiative, students also benefit from expanded real-world learning opportunities made possible through partnerships with local businesses, higher education, and industry leaders including Cleaver-Brooks, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM), Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC), Georgia Tech, and many others. These partnerships help students explore future pathways early and build connections that extend beyond the classroom.
📌 New student enrollment opens February 3rd.
Whether your student is preparing for middle school or looking for new opportunities, Thomasville City Schools offers a place to discover interests, build confidence, and grow as a learner and leader.
The future is bright and it starts right here at Thomasville City Schools.

🏁🔧 An Exciting Day for Bulldog Innovation! 🔧🏁
Today, Thomasville High School students put their skills to the test during our Advanced Manufacturing Pilot (AMP) Pinewood Derby Car Race, applying engineering, design, and problem-solving skills in a real-world setting. Through our partnership with Georgia Tech, students are gaining exposure to advanced manufacturing concepts that reflect real industry practices and expectations.
Students designed, engineered, built, tested, and raced their derby cars using industry-standard tools, including Fusion design software, CNC machines, and 3D printers—developing skills in precision, data analysis, and iterative design along the way.
A special thank you to the Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) manufacturing staff for their assistance and expertise throughout this pilot experience. Their guidance and support played a key role in helping students refine their designs and think like engineers.
Today’s race provided valuable data and feedback, and now our students are ready to make adjustments, improve performance, and prepare for their next challenge. We’re excited to see our Bulldogs compete in two weeks against other advanced manufacturing programs in Bainbridge as they continue this innovative learning experience.
This work is a powerful example of our Bulldog +1 initiative in action, connecting classroom learning to real-world skills, meaningful partnerships, and future career pathways. We’re proud of our students, staff, and partners for creating opportunities that prepare Bulldogs for what’s next.

We’re proud to reflect on the incredible transformation of our new Thomasville 6–12 School campus, a project that brings middle and high school students together on one unified site—honoring our past while building boldly for the future.
With the former high school building more than 50 years old, this project represents a major investment in our students and community. Construction took place on an active campus, with up to 700 students on site daily, and includes a three-story instructional building, CTAE facility, gym, kitchen and cafeteria, field house, major site improvements, and thoughtful renovations to two historic Scholars Academy buildings—beautifully blending legacy with modern functionality.
This past December, we celebrated this milestone with our official ribbon cutting, marking more than the opening of new buildings. These updates go far beyond brick and mortar, fresh paint, and new flooring. They bring new energy and revitalization to the heart of Thomasville City Schools—strengthening what defines us across academics, arts, and athletics.
This campus represents the past, present, and future of TCS—rooted in tradition, designed for today, and built to support the next generation of Bulldogs for years to come. 🐾❤️
Thank you to Parrish Construction Group and all our partners for helping bring this vision to life.

Congratulations to Mrs. Lori Sumner! For ten years Mrs. Sumner has taught in the Thomasville City Schools. Certified in middle school math and science, high school science, and gifted education, Mrs. Sumner is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction. We are so grateful for her willingness to serve and go beyond expectations! Her students have shown great growth in MAP scores as a direct result of her support during class and the interventions she has implemented. As for after school activities, Mrs. Sumner sponsors the BETA Club for middle school students, is instrumental leader for Science Academy, and cheers on the soccer teams. Our staff and teachers appreciate her skills with Canva and her computer savvy.
We applaud the excellent teaching and service leadership these Scholars Academy teachers provide!
Thank you for being an A+ teacher!

Congratulations to Mr. Seth Kinneer! Serving as an English teacher in Thomasville High School and the Scholars Academy since 2023, Mr. Kinneer goes above and beyond the call of duty. We appreciate how he encourages his students with postcards thanking them for doing a good job and holding impromptu parent conferences. With his upbeat personality and tenacious attitude, Mr. Kinneer serves in the district leadership cohort and volunteers as mentor to the Scholars Academy middle school student council. On Friday nights he graciously runs the scoreboard at THS football games. For Mr. Kinneer, relationships matter.
